I just went to the toilet and I saw shit stain again. This is the around 30th time that I saw stains ever since I blogged about it. The issue is still not resolved.

My floor had a chai tea and ice cream session the other day. It was quite nice to chat and eat ice cream. I showcased my coffee machine too!! Haha. Of course, the crowd was impressed.

Just a random thought. Maybe we should have a fruit and salad session. I will then observe the toilet for the next day and see whether sticky shit stain reappears. If yes, I can narrow down the suspects to those who didn’t attend the salad and fruit session.

I shouldn't be too obsessesed with finding out the culprit. However, i am just too amazed in a wrong way by how sticky the stains can get, and its location. And i realised readership has gone up since i posted my pictures. So i shouldn't be blogging about disgusting stuff like this.

Hm i went to this suburb called belconnen cause i heard there are quite some stuff there. There's a big mall, fresh food market etc. Here are some pictures.

Small but interesting bus interchange.

This is westfield shopping centre. It is huge. It holds a few supermarkets etc. You can actually do quite a bit of shopping there.

Here's the interior. Not very impressive i think. but do not expect too much from a neighbourhood mall. This huge mall somehow reminds me of causeway point. As in the stucture, the shops and stuff gave me this causeway point feeling.

I ventured out of westfield and i saw this. I guess it makes sense. Northpoint and causeway point being near to each other.

The picture below shows the youth centre here. I took this photo secretly cause there were quite a few beng/lians hanging around there. I guess they hang out around these areas. It seems interesting so i took a photo. It mirrors the community centres in singapore i think.

The next few pictures are not related to belconnen. I took a picture if sunset in gunghalin just now.
I took this on a bus :)

Dickson is a place relatively near my hall and is a nice quaint area with interesting cafes and shops. I go there quite often, mainly to get groceries from the aussie version of NTUC called woolworths. They have an aussie version of cold storage in town (also near my hall) but i prefer NTUC (woolworths).

Actually, Dickson is also considered the Chinatown of Canberra as it has a few chinese groceries stores and restaurants. I ate 14 dollar, tasteless laksa from one of the restaurants here.

I like dickson as i feel that the area is very quaint. You can find small cafes/bakeries sprouting at different corners. There's this place called cheesecake shop selling sinful looking cakes. I like to shop in this shop called harris scarfe as it often has huge discounts etc. I bought my pan there at 60% off. So i check it out sometimes. Oh, i like dickson as it reminds me of Ang Mo Kio central. Check out the pictures below. Resemble AMK central, or clementi central or some central in singapore hor?

The last picture is random. I saw some parrots on my way back. There are so many of these parrots around.

Just showing a glimpse of my australian hang out place. Not as cool as queenstown, but not too bad already.

Roaming around canberra is fun. I feel like a tourist when i embarked on such trips to these ulu places.I embarked on a trip to belconnen yesterday. But I ended up at somewhere else. I don't think you all can recognise the names i mentioned. Just know that they are small town centres in canberra.Ihad fun!! So i am posting some pictures..

Being spontaneous and fun, i decided to go down to belconnen yesterday. I took a bus and it went through interesting places. In particular, the bus went through this place with interesting shops, restaurants. Being spontaneous and fun, i decided to alight instead of going down to belconnen. I realised it is call GUNGHALIN!!! Come into my world of lonely planet and admire the pictures.

The picture below is a picture of their library/community centre. I saw a group of angmoh beng/lians sitting around there. Quite an interesting sight.

A picture of the sun. The sky was grey. I had never seen grey sky here. It's back to a nice shade of blue today.

Look at the cool car...

I bought lots of stuff from the reject shop. It was fun being in a new/interesting environment. But i suddenly had a strange urge. I felt like feel like proving some theorem. When it comes, It's unstoppable. I think i am a nerd, a cool one though. i find my behaviour somewhat wierd too. However, i didn't have any material. Not even writing material. So i bought a pen, use some tissue paper and started proving some stuff. Don't judge me!! i roamed around, shopping, eating, proving some theorem. i think It's somewhat cool! i had creme bulee from gloria jeans too. Although at that point in time, i was kind of worried that i will accidentally use these tissue paper to wipe my mouth. Then my proves will be gone.

I got dinner, took a bus back, got lost but got back in the end. I had fun being so spontaneous. :)

I just deleted a funny picture of my friend youli. I had this post with a picture of her back in the old days. Welll, i have to delete that cause she asked me to advertise for her on my blog. So i had to delete that post as the picture will complete destroy her chance although she claims that it is cute. Er..

Ok these are some interesting facts about my popular and fun friend. Please feel free to like her.

1. Her singing is consider really good given that she is basically tone-deaf.
2. She can help improve your health but she will need to poke you with a needle. And the needle looks like it will break.
3. She's really helpful and was involved in lots of community work including becoming a clown for sick children etc.
4. She's humorous.
5. She's a sunshine girl, at least that's why she likes to wear a cap.
6. She has a lot of good points but i can't think of any now. It's too late i am sleeping.

Can send me a email if you are interested. She said guys girls welcome so you all see how huh. She's not ugly!! please do not even suspect.

For those ugly individuals out there, send me an email if you need help looking for a soul mate. I will see how's my mood.
HAHAHA DAVID!!

I don't have to prove I am cuter than taffy by showering you with gifts!! I prove it by posting my picture! I've got what it takes anyway. Sorry chinchi for bringing out your ugly, pale in comparison, past. Blame it on this guy called david anyway hahahaha.

ai since i am looking at old photos, i shall be a little nostalgic. Show some of my jc photos with my JC friends.

Here are some snapshots during our lectures.

My class sleeping in lecture. Can spot where am i??

We are usually so cool during lecture.

Oh and i became the cover page boy for NJC. Nothing surprising. I heard they made my picture into a school banner. Well, what can i say.

Oh and i chose the next picture cause i am the centre of attention/attraction.

And limin, if you are reading this, you still owe me genting photos!! you said you are going to burn for me 5 years ago. Thx huh. So i am showing the immoral side of my friends. Gambling.

Sorry huiquan, for showing such a chui photo of you. HAha. nostalgic la!! Note people, she's not like this normally.

To be fair, i am showing a chui picture of me. You look so good beside me when i have a breakout.

My friend one commented that you are old when you start to look at old photos. Well, i guess i am the exception. Oh, i must say i thoroughly enjoyed JC :) Not difficult to enjoy when i have so many fun friends.

Hm i am glad that people seems to enjoy reading my life here. I guess reading about peculiar things in another country is interesting. I am hoping to educate my friends about the culture here etc. It seems that this blog is serving its purpose of bringing my friends in singapore into my life here too. It certainly serves well as a linkage between me and my friends. I actually feel that i am back to my days of telling stories to my friends, except that i do it online now. Although I think i need to blog about more intelligent things to prevent my blog from degrading to a trashy blog.

I hope that my friends can be influenced by the relaxed pace here. I think it will be good to slow down a little.

I made this pro-looking latte in a lazy afternoon. sometimes i will play some music too. Makes me relax. :)

Actually, i added this photo to show off my coffee making skill. hahahahaha.

Ai today in a super blogging mood. I am supposed to be out clubbing now. But i was a little apprehensive about whether the general public here will be acceptance of my dance moves. More importantly, I am feeling a little lazy. But the drinks here are really cheap. My friend was telling me that the drinks are selling at 2 dollars in the club. Anyway free entry tonight if you have ANU student card. Beer is cheap also. I am not in the mood for loud music. I am in the mood for light music in this cold weather and maybe have a latte. Haha.

Another observation here. I mentioned before that the pace of life here is generally slow. So it takes quite a while for the food to be served in restaurants as everyone is generally relaxed and slow. Nobody complains about the slow service thing here because it is their way of life. I guess in Singapore, people would have asked the waiter a couple of times about the food. They would be all ready to see the manager if that is what it takes to get the food to be served. So having such relaxed life, I realised that they don’t really update the online weather report during weekend and public holiday too. FYI, I check the temperature periodically. Strange. People check weather on weekday and not on weekend?
OK yeuai and michelle. both of you are right. It is the daylight saving thing that is so hard to comprehend. So i have been living in another dimension for the past few days. Something like those sci-fi movies, I was living 1 hour faster than my friends. What puzzled me was that none of my hostel friends, nor school friends mentioned anything about it. I watched the news but i did not catch anything about it. I seemed to have travelled through space and time to reach where i am now. I am just glad that everything is over. My exams are over too!! so i will be having a small break. I am preparing to roam canberra with my camera. So prepare to be fascinated with artistic shots of canberra.

So here'a a preview of my artistic shot:

I bought this honeycomb at around 7 dollars. I am not sure whether this is considered cheap cause i don't see this in singapore. But honey is cheap here :)

Anyway, here's my reply to all the action on my interactively fun tagboard!!!

1. Nadya : hey, i can tell you are really busy with school!! haha. good that u come on my blog to listen to my life stories. Anyway, i have not found the shit stainer. He's too discrete and my analysis is too weak. Ai, but i should not be worrying about such trivial stuff. I have more important stuff to worry about, like my hair. i just had a hair cut for $60! it is just a nieghbourhood store near my hall. With such expensive haircut, i may let it grow to shoulder length.

2. Hi shiwen!!! hahaha. quite boliao to say hi to each other on my blog. feel free to make yourself at home on my blog.

i cant believe i am so confused by the time here!! i dunno what time is it now???!!!! my hp shows that it is 1220 but i saw online that it is only 1120. i googled and it seems that on 5 april, they shifted the time here. so i have been living in my own world!!! no wonder when i went for class just now, nobody was there so i assumed that lesson was cancelled. cuz i have a test tmr. n i happily went out to have lunch instead!! haha i cant believe this is happening. i guess after i post this blog, i shld know the time.

Sunday, April 5, 2009

I am going to make coffee in a while :) haha i am so boliao.

Saturday, April 4, 2009

I have been keeping a secret from all of you for a month. I BOUGHT A COFFEE MACHINE MONTH AGO!! Haha. Actually I didn’t mean to keep it as a secret. Just kind of lazy to upload a picture of my coffee machine onto my blog. I feel that I am not doing my coffee machine justice if I merely blog and not upload a picture of my cool new gadget. Before you start judging me and saying that I am a spendthrift, allow me to justify my spending. I understand that coffee here is cheap. The coffee machine is cheap too!! J I bought it at 64 dollars!! The cheapest one I saw in singapore was 600 plus!! I think it’s because of the coffee culture here that provides the demand for coffee machine and thus, justifies the production of coffee makers and increases domestic supply of coffee machine. I suppose the price of coffee machine has to be competitive to rival cheap gourmet coffee around aussie. Whatever it is, I am just happy that I got it.

Now, I can enjoy coffee whenever I want. I can be my own barista and customize my own drink. Anyway the machine is a small version of the one used in startbucks. It is cool, cute and really useful. Most importantly, I feel pro while making coffee. I never expect myself to make nice coffee at home, given my history of coffee making revolves around 3 in 1 coffee. My coffee is definitely not as nice as the coffee from starbucks etc. However, the standard of my coffee is satisfying and beyond my imagination. I feel quite shy to boast that I actually make better café latte than coffee club express in NUS. I am also shocked by how good I am. I have to admit that the first coffee I made was a disaster. But I always believe in sheer determination. I read lots of stuff online so I picked up quite a bit of coffee making knowledge.

I hope the one day, I can make coffee that are so nice that my ah-mah will prefer my café latte to her all time favourite kopi-O.

wa i just cooked sth that is like Fish n Co standard. And it is really easy. Best of all, i came up with the recipe!! Garlic butter lemon fish!!

Easy. Just..

1. chop garlic (lots of)
2. heat pan
3. put a huge slab of butter onto pan and let it melt.
4. add in garlic and let it sizzle.
5. put fish in and let the skin turn a little crispy. pan fry till the fish is cooked.
6. Add lemon juice and serve.

The lemon juice will make your fish taste unique and healthy even though you added so much butter. Can't believe my blog can actually become a mini food blog. I feel like a chef :)

Note: i didn't add wine to this cause i think it tastes good even without wine. For my fish, i used new zealand fish fillet. White meat. So just use something similar. Don't stupid stupid use ikan bilis.
